‘Hai’ Lights | Louise Pagé

For the last couple of years I have been working exclusively with my ‘hai’ lights project, rice paper collages and piano wire – travelling throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia, creating a distinctly unique visual expression, using the environment as canvas, mark making in space, weaving light through out the countryside – much like a spider weaving its’ web through the landscape – both seen and unseen – visible and invisible – The transient nature of this work lends itself to cycles and ceremonies, comings and goings – reminding us of the temporary nature of everything. With this piece I pay homage to my mentor and buddhist teacher R. GyoZo Spickett, who transitioned earlier this year – Okori
